La Cuerda is situated in a secluded setting just above the traditional village of Bedar, a picturesque white-washed village which includes a handful of bars and restaurants, a few shops including a small supermarket, a bakery, pharmacy and medical centre. The popular resort of Mojacar with its fabulous sandy beaches can be reached within a twenty minute drive and offers a vast array of restaurants, beach bars and shops. Alternatively, the charming fishing port of Garrucha is famous for its busy market, fresh fish and great seafood restaurants along the harbour. A little further is the wild natural park of Cabo de Gata and the splendours of Granada are within a two hour drive.
